Laravel session gets suddenly destroyed

Laravel session destroyed suddenly on https get request. We are having problems with logins persisting. If we click on route protected with "auth.admin" filter, we will end up being prompted to log in again, despite what should be a valid session. This is happening repeatedly across the site for many different workflows. We are using laravel 4.2

Any one have experience like this?
