Laravel Breeze, Next.js API with multiple guards

I wanted to check to see if anyone had got the Breeze and Next.js template (https://github.com/laravel/breeze-next) working with multiple guards.

Ideally we are trying to create different portals (Next.js apps) protected by guards (admin and user). I have had real issues updating the guards and middleware to work beyond the default guard. Is this even possible with the session set up of Breeze API?
