Laravel AWS deployment best practice

I am new to AWS and looking to migrate some of my websites from a VPS. Most of my websites are Laravel applications and require a simple MYSQL database.

I was curious to see how others are running Laravel in AWS, what kind of CD pipelines have you setup and any tips making it as cheap as possible. This is for my personal projects and Amazon RDS seem's to be very expensive.
