Same thing happened to me, as herd stored old configuration when you uninstall and thus it reloads it again when you install it. I used windows 11 enterprise. Try this for MAC : https://support.apple.com/en-us/102610

How to manually set the environment variables for php, node, composer, and laravel installer into zshrc file
I've installed laravel herd on my mac, but I couldn't install node versions, so I deleted Herd as the documentation steps. Now I am trying to reinstall herd, but the environment variables are not being set, how can I manually set them?
