I use this package https://github.com/Maatwebsite/Laravel-Excel

The documentation is good, this will show you how to export data to an an excel file http://www.maatwebsite.nl/laravel-excel/docs/export

You can also use LaraCSV – Generate CSV files from your Eloquent models https://laravel-news.com/generate-csv-files-eloquent-models this will export data as CSV file.
