Does Laravel Need Nodejs?

I am quite new to Laravel and I was going through the Laravel 5.4 From Scratch series and in the episode about Laravel Mix, Jeffery says that Webpack and Laravel Mix are both Node dependencies. I do have Npm and Node installed on my PC so there's no issue there but I want to know if Nodejs should be installed in the server once I deploy my Laravel application as well?

No. Webpack and Mix are development dependencies.

It depends. If your compiling assets on the server or if you are compiling them locally and then pushing to the server. If you are compiling them on the server then you would need node/npm/yarn on it.

Laravel needs nothing extra. If you for example write your own css you could do

<link href="<?= echo asset('assets/css/dog/style.css'); ?>" rel="stylesheet">

I generally don't use blade.
