Isn't that you are checking with the user's date of birth and then making the dropdown selected?
Make sure the currently logged-in user's date of birth. I think it's 7 June, therefore, you are getting it selected.

Since it's laravel, I think you can simply use now() which is carbon instance.
I assume that the user haven set his/her date of birth yet.
It's for a day automatically select based on today's date.

@tisuchi It automatically gets today's date when the profile is newly created. On the other hand, I want "-Month" to be selected automatically in the option section. So "-Mont" should be displayed while nothing is selected yet.

suggest you use range for outputting the select options- it's silly maintaining all those options
your problem is because to start with, your user date of birth is null so carbon returns the current date

Just my suggestion.
You do not need all that carbon in a view, you can format your date prior to saving it.
