Laravel 11 requires GitHub token for a new project to get installed.
I have never heard that. Are you only using composer.

I just did an install, it was fairly fast.

Asking GitHub token
Laravel 11 requires GitHub token for a new project to get installed. Even after providing GitHub token, as the internet connection is a bit slow, project download is getting timed out. How to solve this?

That has nothing to do with Laravel. It's a composer issue.
