My question is quite broad and consist of few question. So i don't know how to set the title

I want you guys, to guide me if laracast suitable for me. I just want to learn PHP and Laravel (of course) here. I have some knowledge in PHP. But very little. Yeah seriously little. I even don't understand the syntax what is this for what is that for (maybe because of language barrier with my lecturer).

I am also in doubt of choosing PHP as my tools because of many bad reviews from the internet. So the question for number two is, does PHP still consume lots of memory (read this as expensive) ? But many reviews out there show comparison using PHP 5 i think, never saw PHP 7. and by that means many PHP artisan go there and debate about it. So i am wondering how good is PHP 7. I am Just hoping that the server does not spike and charge me more (for the resource). That's all. And as long as the web application can handle the user, that should be fine.
