Quick and easy laravel local set up

Hey Guys

So one of my most dreaded thing when it comes to building a laravel app is the process of setting up my local environment. I have almost always encountered errors that take too long to resolve. So what i normally do is to simply develop my app directly on my hosting server. Aside from this approach of building the appl directly are there any other services that can help me get set up either locally or some cloud based service? I hope my question is clear
