Question about newsletters

Does anyone here have any experience in sending newsletters on behalf of customers (from their own domain) with a service such as mailchimp or mailgun? I've used both services before, but just for our own company or setting them up for other individual companies. I'd like to know if these services are any good for multi-tenant type setups, or if self hosting is a better solution.
