This is ridiculous and just broke all of my environments. Not very happy about this. None of the fixes have worked for me either. :(

That's a local issue. Delete the files fully and re-install it.

I'm on OSX, using PHP 5.4, had this same issue, and setting my variables_order to EGPCS fixed it. I got it wrong the first time - if you search for variables_order, the first hit near the top only shows the samples - the second result down is where it's actually set.

I have: - uninstalled and reinstalled Vagrant & VirtualBox; - removed all ~/.vagrant.d; - removed all cache; - switched to homestead 2.0.7;

I'm still getting the following error: "A VirtualBox machine with the name 'homestead' already exists. Please use another name or delete the machine with the existing name, and try again."
