@bambanx Most of the video content on the site is for paying subscribers only however from time to time Jeffrey releases videos that are free.

Other than the videos, as I'm sure you're already aware as you're using it, the forum is free to everyone.

FWIW, if you can afford it, the $9 is completely worth it.

@bambanx Check out the free videos to get an idea of Jeffrey's style and whether learning from videos works well for you. Jeffrey may seem to go quickly at first, but once you've followed along for a while, you'll get the hang of it.

In terms of what to expect with subscriber-only videos--it's just a lot more content. A LOT more.

As @mstnorris says, the subscription is well worth the price of admission to get the subscriber-only videos. Before I was fully committed to Laravel and just trying Laracasts in 2014, Jeffrey lost his mind and offered a lifetime upgrade, I quickly took advantage. It was nearly a year later when I finally had the time and motivation to really dig in. Since about February of this year, I've watched and done all of the code for 191 videos. The forums here are great and the discussion threads for each video can be super helpful too.

Hi, could someone clarify what is currently free vs paid on Laracasts, and how to distinguish them without opening each lesson? I’m asking because I’m not able to pay for a subscription right now. Also, do you think it’s realistic to learn enough to become a junior developer using only the free content?

The videos show if they cost. And the learn laravel in 30 days is free plus many more courses.

Just browse through the videos.
