Is it possible with relative ease to implement Laravel Cashier without billing with Stripe. My client does not want to accept credit cards. They want to accept checks and mark as paid on receipt.
No, Cashier is a package that only handles Stripe. It is designed for quick and easy integration of card payments.
If your client only wants to accept cheques, then why do you need a payment service at all? The whole point of a service like Cashier/Stripe is to accept cards and automate payments.
All you need is some admin interface where they can look up orders and push a button that says, "we got the cheque for this".
I wasn't looking at it for a payment service, I was more wanting to use it for invoicing and subscription management. Rolling my own isn't a problem, just thought I would take advantage of the package if it would allow me to accept other payment methods than credit card. Thanks for your reply and advice.
Oh I see, I hadn't thought of using it like that!
Stripe does have nice invoicing/subscription management, but I don't think there is any way to use these without the payments going through Stripe. After all, that's how they make their money.
