Cant Login using Session Driver

Hi ! I have read about some of the advantages of storing sessions in the db and i would like to use the database session driver for my latest project. Though immediately i switched from file to database driver, i could nolonger login. Funny thing is the sessions are being written to the db upon login. Is there something im missing ? Im using the general Auth::Attempt() method to authenticate.
