Add voyaguer menu from laravel controller

Hi! newbie here. So i need to create roles programatically and set the views and permisions that the new role is allowed to use, and i recon that voyager works with menus that do exactly that, and my question is can i use voyager as a model and create menus and menu's items on a laravel controller?.
