Im looking for a good automatic database backup solution, and many laravel like forums Ive visited recommend Ottomatik. After following the steps one by one, the last page always throws an error and will not allow me to complete the configuration. Has anyone successfully been able to set this up and get it working? Is it better to use something like spatie/laravel-backup?

I use spatie/laravel-backup and it works perfectly. Took no time to set up (just a config file and a couple of tasks). It even checks file integrity

@sti3bas Thanks, that should work for my needs, I had not realized this feature was available. I ran a test and fired off a backup. I noticed that the file created is very small, a .tar.gz. Does it make sense to you that this file is only about 35 mb? My database has roughly a million records

@gbever I guess it's compressed, so I think it makes sense.
