ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket

Help!

I just created a server in laravel forge. I tried to log in to the mysql /mariadb via terminal. After hitting the password, this error comes out ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2 "No such file or directory").
