Can i add another webpack.custom.js in mix?

I'm wondering if i can set a custom webpack.sample.js when i run npm run dev or watch? One for the frontend and one for the backend which I currently using an admin theme. When i'm running npm run dev some of the script is not compiling well. I'm not that familiar with webpack.
