Setting up - cURL error 7: cabinet.laravel.com Connection timed out?

Hi

I have this problem and I can find nothing that helps.

If I type, "laravel new test-site" it hangs for a few minutes on "Crafting application..."

Then just displays the below:

In CurlFactory.php line 185:

  cURL error 7: Failed to connect to cabinet.laravel.com port 80: Connection timed out (see http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c
  /libcurl-errors.html)

I'm using Vagrant 2.2.4, Homestead 8.3.4 and VMWare fusion on OSX El Capitan if it helps.

I found this thread below, but the answer on that thread just hangs with no result and I have to ctrl+c out.
