📝 My First Open-Source Laravel Package – ScaleKit
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working on something small but very meaningful to me - a Laravel starter kit.
At first, I just wanted to understand Laravel more deeply, so I started by cloning a project. Then I thought: why not turn this into a package and dive deeper into how Laravel works under the hood? That’s how ScaleKit was born.
I’ll be honest: this is my first package, so it’s definitely not perfect or polished. In fact, it’s really just a combination of existing ideas and packages stitched together. But I built it with honesty and dedication, because I wanted to learn and also hopefully create something that might save another developer a little bit of time.
I know it might not be very useful yet - maybe even a little messy 😅 - but I believe a messy first version is still better than nothing. And more importantly, it’s a step forward in my open-source journey.
So, I’m sharing it here with this amazing community: 👉 github.com/aaqibshahzad/scalekit
If you have a few minutes, please take a look. I’d be grateful for any feedback - whether it’s criticism, advice, or ideas for improvement. If you like the idea of building a community-standard Laravel starter kit, I’d love to collaborate or even be mentored by someone more experienced.
I’m honestly nervous to share this, but also very excited to learn. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you to the open-source community for inspiring me to start.
