Nova Traffic Cop

We are experiencing some issues with the traffic cop feature, which I am "resolving" by disabling at the moment, but I need to understand how to address it properly. This issue seems to be affected by the client-side time - which is not ideal and not something we can control?

Some clients continuously get the "resource was updated by someone else" error whenever they update a resource.

The Nova documentation suggests that: "Before disabling Traffic Cop, if you are experiencing issues you may first want to check that the system time is correctly synchronized using NTP." - that would control the server time, and I would assume that would be all that is required.

Does anyone have some pointers to look out for?

The only variables I can find related to this are:

  1. Ensuring the time on server is correct
  2. Timezone in the app config (must this be set to same as timezone on server?)
