It seems that although the 'owner_id' attribute is getting passed in the array to the create method, it's not actually being included in the SQL Insert query. Why would that be?

Contents of my attributes array...

The code in projectsController store method...

            'title' => ['required', 'min:3'],
            'description' => ['required', 'min:3']
        ]);
        $attributes['owner_id'] = auth()->id();
        Project::create($attributes);
        return redirect('/projects')

The error message that's output...

SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1364 Field 'owner_id' doesn't have a default value (SQL: insert into `projects` (`title`, `description`, `updated_at`, `created_at`) values (ryhtr, yhtrh, 2019-07-12 13:15:21, 2019-07-12 13:15:21))
