Windows very slow?

Hi all, so im a bit new to the eco system. I come from JS/TS heavy background and im mainly a vue dev.

I have installed the laravel vue starter kit, and running composer run dev, as it suggest, takes around 500ms to get a page response? Which is extremely slow.

When I use herd, its much better, around 200-300ms, but it's still not good for something like a login page honestly. Not sure whats going on.

When I use my macbook, its 70ms?

Has anyone had similar experiences? If so any fixes? My windows machine is pretty good, maybe some bottleneck?

On Windows I have apache, php, and mariadb installed from the zip versions, and I have not noticed loading that slow.

So try apache or nginx is my suggestion.

Sometimes any server can be a little slower at times on very first page load. Also do you have any debugging tools in use?

Will try running it old-school then. Thanks for the advice. Using mainly debugbar and inspect. I'll try with apache and reinstall php. As its been a while perhaps it's out of date as it just now came to mind. But honestly the difference between Mac and Windows is what surprised me. Will update once I'll try.

I was only mentioning the way I setup. But have you looked at laravel herd?

Disable Windows Defender or add project folder and executables to exclusion list.
