Laragon mail sender not supported anymore

Hey everyone, I want to test out email verification through Laragon's mail sender which is done using a Gmail account. The problem here is that Google has deprecated email and password authorization and going to https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps just shows the functionality is unavailable. I'm unsure what alternatives I have to test out email verification locally and I don't have a server set up as of yet which can send out the mail. Some pointers would be appreciated, thank you.

@Snapey Thank you, I managed to get mailing set up now. I tried reading up on the topic a little more as I was kind of blindly going into this. I feel like using this over laragon's method has already set me up better for when I need to deploy the website since I can more easily plug in a mailing service of my choosing

For the latest Gmail update related to mail sending, it still works in Laragon mail sender, but you need to enable 2FA for your Gmail account first.

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to Gmail and click on "Manage Account."
  2. In the search bar, type "App Password" and press Enter.
  3. You will be redirected to the App Password page. Enter your App name there.
  4. After typing the name, a new prompt for the password will appear.
  5. The password generated in this step is the one you should use for your credentials instead of your Gmail password.

I hope this information will be helpful to others for future reference.
