Switching from PHP to C#

Hello,

Not sure if that's the right place or if that's even allowed to ask here so please let me know and I will remove the post.

I'm really enjoying PHP + Laravel, but recently I passed an interview in a job with C# and .NET.

It's much closer to where I live so it will be more convenient and less tiring. I am reluctant to move away from PHP + Laravel ecosystem because I quite enjoy it.

However I wonder if someone here had the same or similar experience and can help me with deciding whether it's a good idea to do it.

Will try to keep learning Laravel though if I do switch just to stay up to date

you would have a learning curve but I assume they would not offer you the job if they did not think you could do it

I would heavily base my decision on if you would be working with other devs who are already up to speed

A red flag would be no other devs and a recruiting manager that is not sure what C# is

But, it's got to be better than trying to work behind internet gatekeepers

@Snapey Thanks! It's a small company where the owner basically is the one who started the company and started coding (He has B.Sc in Computer Engineering)

He also told me about the dev team that many of them work there for years, the head of the team is 15 years there.

He actually told me that this place would be like a school for C#/.NET because of the experience and that I will learn a lot there
