Updating project on hosting

I have create a small laravel project, which I need to update every two weeks.

Having little knowledge in deploying {was always done for me) I am changing each file via hosting.
I tried to update project on pc and upload whole Laravel folder to hosting again, except "public" folder. But I am not sure if "public" ever changes?
Is there a third way to do it? Something like with git? You make changes on pc and push..

What ways do you use to update the project on hosting?

But make sure you have your files on github got it to go smoothly

Are you using shared hosting?

Yes it is possible to push changes from your pc to the github repository and then you will need to pull the changes on the hosting.
