Saving skipped steps in database

Hi everyone. I have an API with a lot of different polls for the user to fill the profile. I was wandering how to save that the poll was skipped and how to distinguish the difference between skipped and empty poll answer. Currently I’m not 100% sure whether that information will be useful but still any idea would be helpful
