I am buiding a blog for my ecommerce website. The blog is using a different domain name - and using wordpress. Using a different domain is it beneficial for seo the websites?

Creating a seperate domain name for the e commerce website and linking it to the main website once it gains some traffic.
Creating a proper blog section in the website and working on the blog as well as the e commerce services simultaneously.
