Laravel Testing
So I found something like testing with laravel pretty useful but the course is way out of date. do you guys think it's still worth it to bother? Any other series up to date I can watch for testing maybe?

To get familiar with the workflow its still good. I watched several older episodes too. Still, if you want something else, Jeff did quite a few series building apps while using PHPUnit intentionally. All these series has the "TDD" phrase in the title (Test Driven Development). The latest of them is:

Whether it is Adam Wathan's , Jason McCreary's or Jeffrey Way's tutorial the main take away for me always is how they reason about testing and less about the actual test code they are writing.
