Apparently this is a known bug in PHP 7.3:
You can follow the instructions here for a workaround or uninstall PHP 7.3 and use 7.2

noob question - PHP Fatal error : trying to install valet
Uncaught ErrorException: preg_match(): JIT compilation failed: no more memory in phar:///usr/local/bin/composer/vendor/symfony/console/Application.php:759
I am a bit of a newbie on this framework - only just getting started - as you can see.....any help appreciated.
