Horizon on Digital Ocean or Forge

Is it possible to deploy Horizon on a non Forge server like DO? I cant seem to figure out how you start a daemon for Horizon unless you are on Forge.

the horizon page gives you a supervisor example.. which would keep it running.. you can create a cron job as well..
