MacBook Air or Pro 13

Hi,

I have to change my laptop and options narrowed down to MacBook Air vs Pro 13 inch. Till now I was using Macbook Air for development and loved it. Still thinking of buying another MacBook Air. But instead, should I upgrade to a Pro? and will the upgrade worth it?

I know this could be very subjective. But as developers, your feedback will be very helpful to me.

Thank you.

I have a 13" Pro, it's the first Mac i've ever owned and cannot fault it.

Battery life is good, performance is good (use it for coding, phpstorm, valet, etc).

I would suggest checking out the keyboard in an apple shop first because it's very different to the air.

It's expensive for what it is, perhaps wait for the refresh later this year?

Recently i bought my first mac and I long to choose between MacBook Pro 13 and 15 inch. In the end i chouse 15 inch. And compared to 13, 15 inch is much larger and comfortable, i think.

Therefore, i advise you to think about the 15 inch update ;)

I just got a 13" pro and it's quite nice. The new touchbar thing seems a bit useless to me - but then I spend 99% of my time with just a browser/terminal/editor and none of them do much with it. The keyboard is a bit... 'interesting' too - but I'm getting quite used to it now.

I needed the extra ram as I've got to run a lot of VM images for legacy code - if you can get away with using something like Valet then you could probably save a lot of cash and stick with an air. If they offered 16gb ram on the air I'd probably have gone with it myself.
