I hope Jeffrey doesn't mind this little "advertisement", but I'm working on a book with phpacademy's founder Alex Garrett. It should be out within the next month or two.
That's the issue that I've faced @devjack, so many of the published books etc are either old or just contradict each others methods/practises. Anyone recommend any others, I'd also be very grateful.
It's out of date, but "PHP Objects, Patterns and Practice" was a popular choice. I'm still reading it, but I'd imagine the bits on design patterns are still relevant.
+1 for @dabernathy89 recommendation PHP Objects, Patterns and Practice. Sure it is old, but all of the foundation stuff use relevant and pretty easy to digest.
