Probably not got your PATH set properly? I don't know much about Forge but to use commands in /usr/local/bin etc it needs to be in
echo $PATH

Forge on Custom VPS? Is it even supported?
Hi, Because Taylor is too busy answering e-mails, I'll ask a question over here.
Question. Is Custom VPS even supported? I have a custom VPS that isn't installing like it should. At first I tried the install with hhvm enabled, but that gave an error.
When I'm trying to deploy, I get the message that PHP and Composer are missing. See: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4fr11dcehvtifal/Schermafdruk%202014-11-21%2022.44.48.png?dl=0
So I guess that isn't the only part that wasn't installed properly.
FYI: every time (yes, tried couple of times) I did a full reinstall of the VPS with Ubuntu 14.04.

I know what Forge "is" but never used it. Should be able to see if your PATH is set correctly though?

Depends what OS image you use? As far as I'm aware, if you use a custom one it won't set all that?

I had / have the same or similar problem on an EC2 instance. I too have raised a support email. Or two.
Interestingly, I fired up a couple of Vultr instances ... No problems.

It might help if you state who your VPS provider is.
