Larval 5.1 and SSL

Who do you all use for SSL Certificates, and are there any resources out there that explain how to install them on Laravel, through Forge, hosting with DigitalOcean?

If you want a free one with added protection on your site, I use CloudFlare for all my sites. https://www.cloudflare.com free strong TLS (SSL) cert.

Basically if you buy one from https://www.ssls.com for example, you would generate a cert on your server and put the domain in and all the other details. Then you would paste the cert into the site to request a signed cert by a authority company. You will get this via email (normally) and then you can put it into Forge and it will save it for your domain/site.

There's loads of resources on this. Also on the ssls.com site. http://helpdesk.ssls.com/hc/en-us/sections/201073301-Getting-started-and-activating-your-SSL

not a part of CloudFlare.com or SSLs.com I just use them personally and can recommend

I also use CloudFlare and have some cheap SSLs from https://www.ssls.com

If you dont want a shared SSL like CloudFlare i would go for ssls.com because they are the cheapest SSLs on the market. I payed 3,60 EUR for one year.

If you are using Forge just generate a CSR on your forge site. On your forge site you have a "SSL Certificates" tab. There you have a big button to create a CSR ( request code for ssl ). Just click on "Create Signing Request". After this you get the CSR Code. Copy this code and if you order a Cert on ssls.com you have to enter this CSR Code.

After your verification from ssls.com you get an email. Just confirm this email. After this you get your full SSL keys. With this keys you can install the SSL on forge ( same SSL tab ). Just scroll a bit down to your Server SSLs. There you can click the little Icon below "Install Certificate" - there you can paste your Keys and enable your SSL.
