Laravel Vapor - performance across multiple continents

Hi, I would like to build Laravel app. It should handle traffic spikes very well so I am researching Laravel Vapor and AWS. The one thing that concerns me is latency.

For example, if the database is located in the USA then how to achieve fast response and data reads/writes from Japan? Does Vapor support database replication? Does Vapor have some other tools to scale geographically?
