Intervention image quality in Vapor

Is there anyone else who uses Intervention Image uploads in their Vapor application?

It's really bugging me because the quality of my resized images is pretty bad. I've tried different compression values and different means of saving the file, but it makes no difference. The images just look too pixelated.

All I could find on google was some talk about different versions in php that could cause problems. So I'm hoping that if someone else here has used it they can verify that it's the vapor build that causes it. Otherwise, there must be something goofy in my code.
