Teams & Single user account sign up

Ill explain my use case and see if there is an easy way to do it before I start altering code. I need Single User Account that are free (NO free trial) to use service with limited functionality (I can restrict functionality that with code ) And I need Team Accounts that get the ability to create max 3 teams and have limited users per team.

I'm confused on how to on board the users. I tried following the demo but the teams registration never shows up on the register page. and once I'm registered it tells me I'm not part of a team and I need to create a team.

Any guidance would be appreciated.
