Question on book: PHP Objects, Patterns, and Practice

Hey everyone,

At the following link https://laracasts.com/recommended-reading the book "PHP Objects, Patterns, and Practice 4th ed. 2013 Edition" by Matt Zandstra is recommended.

I wanted to purchase the book on kindle, but as the book was published in 2013 I was curious to know whether a large part of the content would be outdated or not, or if there's a newer version in the works that I should wait for.

Any advice on this or recommendations for other books on design patterns in PHP would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Try SafariOnline, for the cost you could read thru a dozen books for a month or two.

I've re-read this book recently and it's still very relevant in my opinion. Sure it mentions a few things that may not be quite so relevant these days (PEAR for example) but its core teaching are still sound.

I guess you could always ask Matt (https://twitter.com/getinstance_mz) if a new version is in the works.
