The error Livewire\Exceptions\RootTagMissingFromViewException in Livewire 4 usually means that your Livewire component's Blade view is missing a single root tag. Livewire 4 introduced a stricter requirement that the rendered output of every Livewire component must be wrapped in a single HTML tag (the “root tag”).

In your case, the view is only:

{{ $this->table }}

This will render only the Filament table output, which may not be wrapped in a single root element.

Solution

Wrap your output in a single root HTML element - typically a <div>:

<div>
    {{ $this->table }}
</div>

Why is this required?

Livewire needs a single DOM node to “attach” to, so rendering components using fragments (unwrapped content) will cause this error.

Full example:

Suppose your view file is resources/views/livewire/inventory-table.blade.php:

<div>
    {{ $this->table }}
</div>

Now, refresh your page and the error should disappear.

Tip:
If you have multiple elements or sections, always ensure everything inside a Livewire component view is wrapped by a single parent tag.

If you use Filament Tables directly inside Livewire components, this requirement stays the same: always a single root element.

Reference:

Summary: Wrap {{ $this->table }} with a <div> (or another block-level element), and the error will be resolved.

Hi @silveira, I've read about a similar issue in another post when upgrading to Livewire 4 and Filament. They fixed it by deleting the node_modules directory and installed the nodes packages again. I suggest giving it a try.
