Microsofts Deprecation of basic auth / sending emails smtp

Hi,

After reading https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/deprecation-of-basic-authentication-exchange-online it still remains unclear if SMTP auth is going to be effected. Some projects I have send emails from office365 smtp addresses, and they authenticate using the smtp mail driver, username and pass.

Will this be effected, if so, how to combat this?

SMTP AUTH will still be available when Basic authentication is permanently disabled on October 1, 2022. The reason SMTP will still be available is that many multi-function devices such as printers and scanners can't be updated to use modern authentication.

@Sinnbeck I noticed this, does laravel use SMTP AUTH? Is there different types of smtp authentication, or is it always SMTP auth?
