Incase you need to store something in the user's session. You might not know who they are yet, but you might need to track them from one page to the next

Laravel Session
Laravel always maintains session with the cookie, laravel_session on route belonging to web middleware regardless of login. I wonder why it does so although you don't login. What merit do you get by doing so??
