Be part of JetBrains PHPverse 2026 on June 9 – a free online event bringing PHP devs worldwide together.
Currently laravel sail only supports npm command on the docs.
I already publish the Dockerfile php artisan sail:publish.
And then customize the Dockerfile as follows

After re-building sail sail build --no-cache, it successfully built.
But when I'm running sail yarn install. I got a result
No such command: yarn
Having much curiosity, I'm digging deeper through vendor/laravel/sail/bin/sail file and found that when I'm running sail npm install it just proxying npm command to the npm binary on the application container.
Do you have any solution beside turning down sail then run yarn install locally then turning up sail?
probably yarn command will be added in the feature, for now:
$ sail shell // enter inside the container
$ yarn install // run yarn command
