Issues with flash session returning errors

Hello I have an app that uses Laravel 5.6 I am running an issue that when validating forums or trying to send Flash messages back to the request. I don't get anything back in return just an empty flash array ,even when I expect an error. I have reinstalled laravel with composer to see if the would fix the issue but I still have the issue. The app just is basic that uses the scaffolded login and registration that comes with laravel that is where the issue also is at.
