šŸ¤”šŸ‘‰ I'm planning to do a chat with CometChat + Larvel + Vue.

What are your experience with CometChat? I need your opinion? :D Before I suggest it to my client. We will be locked into CometChat if we proceed.

But all the features, documentation and prices looks promising. My client is like on the phone with the "when are you done attitude :D". With expectations of realtimechat, send images, typing indicator, friends onlinestatus and everything. What do you think?

The chat is one of the biggest part in our platform.

Thanks.

Hi @learner1982.

My name is Alex, and I work at CometChat!

I appreciate you considering us. As you mentioned, CometChat with Laravel and Vue is a pretty powerful combination. We even have some specific tutorials to help you:

Those TrustPilot comments suck. I promise they are not indicative of how we do business at CometChat.

We have a free plan which you can use to test the product first-hand, and we are very intentional about allowing you to export your data at any time. There's no lock-in here.

All low ratings are regarding an old and now-unavailable version of our product. CometChat offered a self-hosted chat solution for WordPress that webmasters could download and integrate. It required a one-time payment for unlimited access. The tricky thing about a self-hosted solution is that webmasters were ultimately responsible for downloading and updating CometChat when we rolled out new improvements. In practice, this lead to outdated CometChat installations and frustration. No good! It also occurred to us that small start-ups with a handful of users were paying the same as enterprise customers thousands upon thousands of users due to a one-time payment. It didn't seem fair to our smaller customers.

After careful consideration, we moved to a cloud offering that is always available, continuously upgraded, and auto-scales to meet your needs. We have a generous free plan geared at developers like you and I (rather than webmasters), and when you go into production, you now pay a predictable monthly amount based on usage. I encourage you to try CometChat first hand. There is no better testament then your own experience. You can also read over 70 positive reviews on G2 Crowd.
