The only official word is in the docs at : https://laravel.com/docs/5.3/releases#support-policy . But given 4.2 had an update fairly recently ymmv :-)

nice to read that securityfixes are supported for 3 years, but uuuuhm 3 years from when? I cant find any like of releasedate... not even on the releasepage of release 4.2....
Wouldn't it be nice to have a relaease table like PHP has (http://php.net/supported-versions.php)

It'd be very nice - but sadly that's all we've got to go on :-/ There's a page with release dates on it here though : https://github.com/laravel/laravel/releases?after=v5.0.0 but from a quick glance it doesn't seem to cover everything. You best bet is probably to check the main github page and see when the version branch was posted. Less than ideal, but there we go :-/
