Deploy laravel 5.4 application to digital ocean droplet

I want to deploy a laravel application built on version 5.4. Installed composer on cloud. Do I have to install all other extensions like mbstring, zip etc. Because if I do I will have to upgrade my server PHP version to latest.

Is it ok to run laravel 5.4 application on a 7.2 PHP version ??

Some packages you will pull in will require those extensions - and I see myself having to install those extensions if the server isn't installed already. So its worth it. Or you could pull the project to server and composer update to see what error messages you get - it will lead you to the right extensions needed - if any

@DOUGLASAKULA - I have the app ready on my local system. Should I just push the app to server using GIT???

@uchihaabhi - Sure thats the fastest way to get started because you are able to identify the error messages if any as you go. As opposed to analysing what you need - just get started and update thread with where you are or are stuck - you will get lots of help then

push the code to server.
run composer update and check for error messages if any

right??

I am using digital ocean so the deployment path will be var/www/MY_APPLICATION
