How many ?

Use a cloud hosting so you can add disk space on the fly (amazon, digital ocean, linode...). You can also store your files in amazon s3 so you have as many space as you need and pay for it.

I cannot tell you which one to use, however i can give my experiences.

Cloudnext = my first VPS hoster, okay cheap hoster. From UK servers. Support agents are fantastic though. if they can help, they will.

Linode = Fantastic! I cannot fault the servers/speed. very fast, i'm using a machine thats half of the cloudnext spec and it seems to run twice as fast.

If I were to start from scratch again, I'd easily go with Linode.

It's a matter of how much space and bandwidth you have on the server. Some hosts don't actually allow media hosting (even VPS/Cloud/Dedicated providers). Their bandwidth terms normally only allow general traffic, not streaming/cdn services.

I agree with Bashy, Its depend on you that how much size and bandwidth needed. I prefer you to Try Cloudways for Laravel dedicated cloud hosting. CDN is also included in their Platform.

@saddsa “Best web hosting” is subjective. All I can offer is my personal experience: I’ve built a video on demand site using Amazon Web Services for the storing, transcoding and streaming of media, and the public website is hosted via aTech Media’s Viaduct service.
