Noob to Laravel

New to Laravel, I was watching this series (video) https://laracasts.com/lessons/laravel-installation-for-newbs ...

I noticed that it was from 2014, and the screens shown on laravel.com and laracast are much older than current.

Could someone please reply with a link to a current getting started series?

Or is that series still relevant and correct?

(for example following the video . can not find where to download the laravel.phar file...)

Thank You in advance -Herb

@herbtrevathan

For installation you can check out the manual, there really isn't much to it if you have composer, npm, etc already installed..

After that there is a 2017 series you can start watching..

PS. If you're on Windows, I suggest you check out Laragon for web server stuff, it's by far the easiest and it supports Laravel. I think it even comes with Compoer, PHP, etc..

@jlrdw haha, you can't look at the post-time.. I started writing that post about 5 minutes before the OP started writing even ☺
